The La Ronge Ice Wolves have a number of important events in the coming weeks.

The first event is scheduled for Saturday at the Eagle Point Golf Course. The annual La Ronge Ice Wolves Alumni Golf Tournament starts at 10:30 a.m. with prizes for a hole in one, closest to the pin and longest driving. The fundraiser also includes a supper following the tournament.

Between Aug. 23 to 26, the Ice Wolves Summer Hockey School will occur at La Ronge’s Mel Hegland Uniplex. It’s for ages five to 17 and includes three full days of on-ice and off-ice training with two hours on ice per day.

The cost of the hockey summer school is $300 and it’s being led by head coach Kevin Kaminski. Participants will learn fundamental skills development, team building and there will be a full scrimmage on the last day. There will be a barbecue and awards at the end of the camp.

Dates have also been set for the 2021 Fall Howl Identification Camp. It will be held Aug. 27 to 29 at the Jemini Arena in Saskatoon. Each player will get three games and it’s open to those with birth years between 2001 to 2006. Those who would like to register should contact the Ice Wolves.

The Ice Wolves will begin the 2021-2022 regular season at home Sept. 24 against the Nipawin Hawks. The exhibition schedule starts Sept. 5 with the team in Flin Flon and ends at home Sept. 17.
