Cocaine, cannabis seized by La Ronge RCMP during recent drug bust

More than 220 grams of cocaine were seized by La Ronge RCMP on Feb. 24.

According to an RCMP news release, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers executed a search warrant at a residence located on Riese Drive, in relation to an ongoing drug investigation.

A search of the residence resulted in officers locating and seizing 227 grams of cocaine, five and a half pounds of dried cannabis, 22 bags of cannabis gummies, cellphones, trafficking paraphernalia and knives.

David Inglis, 50, and 26-year-old Alex Spence, both of La Ronge, have each been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of distributing cannabis, possession of a dangerous weapon and failing to comply with a release order.

Both Inglis and Spence are scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 27 at the La Ronge Provincial Court. The pair were previously charged by RCMP in November 2022 after a search warrant resulted in the seizure of 222 grams of cocaine and 275 grams of cannabis.

The same RCMP news release also noted a second incident the occurred at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 21. Police conducted a traffic stop on Highway 102 at Lamp Lake Road near La Ronge.

Officers observed a digital scale with what appeared to be white powder in plain view in the back seat of the vehicle next to the rear passenger. The three occupants were arrested and taken into custody.

A search of one of the occupants resulted in officers locating two bundles of cash wrapped in plastic.

As a result of the investigation, 42-year-old Ambrose Durocher and 19-year-old Yeina Koladino have been charged with trafficking. Koladino was additionally been charged with possession of proceeds of crime.

Durocher and Koladino are scheduled to make their first appearance in court on March 27 at 9:30 a.m. in La Ronge.
