Smallwood joins Air Ronge council

Dave Smallwood will become the fifth member of Air Ronge village council.

While he has until 4 p.m. on Thursday to withdraw his name, he told larongeNOW he is excited to join an “excellent” council. Smallwood was the only resident who submitted his name for nomination after the first call for candidates didn’t yield enough interest.

He will join incumbent Mayor Julie Baschuk, as well as long-time councillor Terry DesRoches, Tabitha Burr who will begin her second term, and fellow newcomer James Hope Howard.

The new council will be sworn-in during a ceremony in the coming weeks.
