Police officer says blood stained sweater found hidden in stove: murder trial
Dozens of photographs taken by police at a house where man was found deceased, show a crime scene that can only be described as chaotic.
Within the living room, there were multiple knives, a small hammer and a three pound plate. All contained varying degrees of blood staining.
In the kitchen stove, police recovered an orange hoodie and blue lighter. The sweater, when examined and turned right side out, had blood on it.
The RCMP officer in charge of forensics testified on Thursday at the Mary Bird murder trial at Court of King’s Bench in Prince Albert. The 24-year-old is alleged responsible for the death of Wilfred Ballantyne in November 2023 near La Ronge.
