Île-à-la-Crosse man facing more than a dozen charges

Police in Île-à-la-Crosse have arrested and charged a man with assault with a weapon and several other charges. 

On May 5 at approximately 11 p.m., RCMP received a report of an armed man at a residential property on Lajeunesse Avenue and that a woman had been assaulted. 

An investigation determined an altercation had occurred and the man threatened the woman and others at the property before leaving. The woman was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious, but non-life-threatening in nature. 

Afterwards, officers attended a separate residence and arrested the man. While there, they located and seized two machetes and a prohibited firearm.
