Woman charged with aggravated assault after altercation on Montreal Lake Cree Nation

A 29-year-old woman from Montreal Lake Cree Nation is facing several charges after a violent incident in the community on Sunday.

Allison Bird appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Monday and was remanded to June 18.

Late Sunday night, Waskesiu/Montreal Lake RCMP received a report of an injured female at a residence on Naytowhow Lane on Montreal Lake Cree Nation.

Investigation determined an altercation had occurred between two women. During the altercation, one woman was seriously injured, and she was transported to the hospital by STARS. The second woman fled from the residence but was located and arrested later that day at a separate residence in the community.
