Riders out-gallop Stamps in overtime thriller, win 40-37
It was another thriller in the 2026 CFL season as the Saskatchewan Roughriders left Calgary with a 40-37 win over the Stampeders at McMahon Stadium on Saturday.
The Riders led 23-7 at one point but with only 34 seconds left in the game, Calgary’s quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. connected with Tevin Jones for a touchdown to tie things at 31.
In overtime, both teams kicked field goals with their first possessions but after Calgary once again was forced to settle for a field goal, Saskatchewan drove from the 35-yard line and finished their drive off with a Tommy Stevens rushing touchdown — his second of the game.
“Football is like life,” slotback Kian Schaffer-Baker said.
