SMVS celebrates 2026 graduating class
The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s (LLRIB) Senator Myles Venne School celebrated its 2026 graduating class on Wednesday.
There were 38 students part of this year’s graduating class, up from 28 in 2025. The ceremony was held at Jonas Roberts Memorial Community Centre.
There were many dignitaries who attended the event, including LLRIB Chief Tammy Cook-Searson, Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations Grand Chief Bobby Cameron, Prince Albert Grand Council Grand Chief Brian Hardlotte, and Cumberland NDP MLA Jordan McPhail.
In his welcoming speech, Senator Principal Dale Ahenakew told the class they have his heartfelt congratulations, and he feels privileged to be part of the journey leading up to them walking across the stage.
