Canada Day events in La Ronge, Stanley Mission

Canada Day is quickly approaching and there will be celebrations held in both La Ronge and Stanley Mission. 

In La Ronge, Wednesday, July 1, will begin with a free pancake breakfast at the Kikinahk Friendship Centre from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.  

That will be followed by the annual parade. Participants with floats are asked to line up at the side of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band office starting at 10 a.m. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. and will proceed along La Ronge Avenue before dispersing at Patterson Park.  

In addition to the breakfast and parade, a variety of activities will be held at Patterson Park from noon to 3 p.m. Activities will include a slip and slid, foam party, youth tube rides on Lac La Ronge, and a beach volleyball tournament. Fireworks will commence at sundown at the beach.
