Three candidates running for mayor in Denare Beach  

Months after the passing of Carl Lentowicz, Denare Beach will choose is first new mayor in three decades. 

Lentowicz filled the role from 1997 until he passed away this past February.  

The three people who have opted to run include Dale Holmgren, Jennifer Hysert and Karen Thompson. The by-election date is set for September 2. 

Other than filling the long time shoes of Lentowicz, the village’s new mayor will also have the challenge of helping the community recover from last year’s wildfire season that burned 200 homes.
