La Ronge medical clinic closed Thursday after break-in attempt

The La Ronge Medical Clinic was forced to close its doors Thursday after an attempted break-in the night before.
“Due to damage to our clinic entrance doors, our clinic will be operating virtually only on August 6, 2026,” the clinic said on social media.
La Ronge RCMP said officers were patrolling the community shortly before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when they saw a man breaking into the clinic. He was arrested at the scene.
Police said the door was damaged, but no items were reported stolen. Chad Halkett, 33, is charged with break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence, and mischief under $5,000.
