Ice Wolves host annual Parents Weekend

Nov 29, 2025 | 7:12 PM

It’s been a busy two days for players of the La Ronge Ice Wolves and their families.

Aside from back-to-back home games against the Weyburn Red Wings on Friday and Saturday, it’s also marked the team’s annual Parents Weekend and Sportsmen Dinner. In addition, the Ice Wolves wore special pink and black jerseys to raise awareness for breast cancer.

“It’s an opportunity, a weekend, the team puts together where we get all the parents from all across Canada and some families from the United States come out to see their boys play in the Ice Wolves and experience La Ronge,” said Assistant Coach Kyle Graham.

“It’s just good to meet the families and see where these boys came from.”

While the Ice Wolves had a devastating 5-0 lose against the Red Wings on Friday, they were able to make a comeback on Saturday and win 2-1. Evan Cook secured the first goal in th first period with an assist by Trevor Oishi and Jacob Morrison earned the second goal in the third with assists from Cook and Ryder Mckinnon.

“Our effort yesterday was not nearly as good as the weekend before when we played the Red Wings,” Graham explained.

“We out worked them last weekend and we got a good result. Today’s game our work ethic was awesome. Just a great job blocking shots, winning puck battles, being first to pucks and capitalizing on our opportunities and our penalty kill was excellent tonight and so was our goaltender Graham Brown.”
