RCMP seek suspect after shooting in La Loche

La Loche RCMP are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect following a shooting that left one person injured Saturday morning.

Police said officers were called to a report of a shooting on Janvier Avenue at about 9:50 a.m. on July 11. Their investigation determined an adult male discharged a firearm, striking another individual.

The victim was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

According to RCMP, the suspect fled the scene on foot, running north into a wooded area.

The suspect is described as a man wearing a black Nike Tech hoodie, black pants and a blue medical mask. Police said no additional details about the suspect are available at this time.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident, or who witnessed suspicious activity in the Janvier Avenue area on the morning of July 11, to contact La Loche RCMP by calling 310-RCMP.
