Three charged after pair of armed robberies: RCMP

A man and two women are in custody after RCMP say they assaulted and robbed people of their vehicles in two separate incidents earlier this week.

Police say the spree began on Sunday, Aug. 2, at around 5:45 p.m., when officers in Prince Albert received a report of an armed robbery at a home in the community of Little Red River. Two people with firearms threatened and assaulted the victim, before taking the keys to their SUV. The suspects fled in the stolen SUV.

A day later, La Ronge RCMP received a similar report from along Highway 2, south of La Ronge, only this time it was three people with firearms who threatened two individuals, assaulted them and stole their truck. The suspects were driving a vehicle matching the stolen SUV’s description, before they then stole the truck and abandoned the SUV at the scene.

In both incidents, the victims were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while Prince Albert and Waskesiu RCMP were called in to assist in the investigation.
