Ministry of Highways responds to concerns from Air Ronge council
The Ministry of Highways has responded to inquiries from Air Ronge council following a meeting held between the two groups during the annual Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association’s convention in April.
In a letter to Mayor Julie Baschuk, Minister of Highways Kim Gartner stated the ministry appreciates the community’s feedback and remains committed to working collaboratively to address concerns and improve safety and accessibility.
“During your meeting with the ministry, a number of questions were raised regarding plans for ongoing capital investment on Highway 2,” the letter notes.
“The construction of a second bridge is planned as part of a future four-lane initiative for Highway 2 through La Ronge. At this time, no timeline has been established for this project and no funding has been allocated. While the project is not currently included in our capital plan, it continues to be monitored for future consideration.”
