La Ronge experienced second hottest July on record
This past July was the second warmest on record for La Ronge.
That’s according to data from Environment and Climate Change Canada, which shows La Ronge had an average temperature of 20.1 C in July, representing a 2.5 C increase from normal. Those totals are from 62 years of record keeping.
“It’s likely La Ronge and central Saskatchewan was under the influence of an upper ridge for a large portion of the month or for prolonged periods,” said meteorologist Janelle Gergely.
“What that means is it is building heat because cloud are suppressed and it just allows for little showers, lots of sunshine and warm days day after day.”
