Eastie Boy wins $1 million Metro Pace at Woodbine Mohawk Park

MILTON — Eastie Boy powered his way down the lane to take the Grade 1 $1 million Metro Pace Saturday night at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

With unbeaten Shalom Hanover scratched from the race, the opportunity was available for nine rookies to step up.

Eastie Boy earned the three-quarter length win in a career-best one minute 49.2 seconds. Th Theo was second and Global Choice was third.

Th Theo stormed off the gate and settled on top shortly after the starter car pulled away. Eastie Boy chased the early pacesetter into the first turn, and then took command strides ahead of the opening quarter in 27.1 seconds.
