Scattered Site Outreach Program closes after staff ordered to self-isolate
Staff from the Scattered Site Outreach Program are in mandatory isolation after coming into contact with a client who possibly tested positive for COVID-19. The health authority would not confirm if the client tested positive or not.
That’s according La Ronge’s Kikinahk Friendship Centre Executive Director Ron Woytowich, who said it’s unknown when operations will return to normal. Scattered Site has been closed since Monday.
“I have to find people who are willing to deep clean the place before we open it up again,” he said. “In the meantime, I have some staff who are now isolating because they were in contact or close to one of our clients who happens to now be isolating because of COVID.”
Due to privacy reasons, Woytowich explained he doesn’t know which employees were ordered into mandatory isolation, although he knows of three who are doing so. He noted the Saskatchewan Health Authority also wouldn’t name the client who is of concern or whether the person is male or female.
