School buses arriving at Allinone Conveyance in La Ronge
The buses set to transport students in La Ronge and other northern communities are starting to arrive at Allinone Conveyance’s shop in La Ronge.
That’s according to Operations Manager Katherine Lowenberg, who said nine buses have been delivered to the company so far, with the remainder expected to arrive Friday. She said the buses to be used are second-hand and were built between 2006 and 2014, which is in alignment with Allinone’s contract with the Northern Lights School Division. Lowenberg added management will consider purchasing new buses next school year.
“Everything is falling into place very nicely,” she said. “We’re all settled with drivers and everyone is on board.”
Having outbid NorthWinds Bus Lines to provide services in La Ronge, Lowenberg noted Allinone was able to calculate a reasonable amount on a contract bid as to the expenses they’ll need to cover. The company is currently renting a lot along Poirier St., which includes one bay, two offices, as well as space to park the buses. Lowenberg stated everyone seems to be happy with the change.
