Work has been completed on a large skylight in La Ronge’s Mistasinihk Place.

The provincial government spent approximately $2.3 million in repairs at the office complex.

An email to larongeNOW from SaskBuilds and Procurement stated the project was a skylight replacement that was deemed necessary to fix a leak, which was causing water to breach into the building.

The construction cost was $1,985,380, while the total project cost was $2,260,000. Construction started April 22.

The giant skylight covers the entire length of Mistasinihk Place which is a large office building in La Ronge housing staff from multiple provincial ministries including Corrections and Policing, Environment, Central Services, Highways, Justice, Education, Legal Aid, Government Relations, Immigration and Career Training, Social Services and Trade and Export Development.

It is also home to a Northlands College campus, as well as gallery space for the La Ronge Arts Council.
