Keethanow Liquidation set to open Monday

Oct 31, 2024 | 2:50 PM

Residents of the tri-communities will soon be able to buy top tier brands at discounted prices with the opening the Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Keethanow Liquidation.

That’s according to Keethanow Group of Companies general manager Dennis Caplette, who explained the store will open to the general public on Monday. The new store is just off Highway 2 and is located in a building previously used as a bingo hall.

“What the liquidation store is going to be is clothing, household appliances, potentially mattresses, full-size appliances at some point in time, and it’s at bargain pricing,” Caplette explained.

“It’s definitely beneficial to the band, but it is also something that will benefit the whole community. Everybody is trying to make their dollar stretch farther and times being economically a little bit tougher, it’s a good way for us to bring a valued service and business to the community of La Ronge.”

Keethanow Liquidation has already held two soft launches for the band’s social development clients. Another soft launch is scheduled for Friday, which will include employees of the LLRIB. Caplette noted the reception so far has been positive.

“A lot of the clothing we are bringing in is all top tier brand names, so [the public] will be able to buy Puma, Champion, Adidas, Skechers, all these different great brands,” he said.

“I just want to let everybody know, we are welcoming the whole community of La Ronge to come patronize our store. We’re really excited about bringing this offering and saving a bunch of money for the community. I am really excited about it, we’re looking forward to opening the doors, and I hope the community all comes down and gives us the support we know that they will.”

Keethanow Group of Companies is owned by several Lac La Ronge Indian Band communities and the group currently operates gas stations and convenience stores, groceries stores, and a lumber yard. Keethanow Liquidation will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days per week.

The store currently has about 10 employees and Caplette noted they are seeking to hire more.
