NAR receives $11,000 PetSmart grant
Northern Animal Rescue (NAR) based in La Ronge is the recipient of an $11,000 transportation PetSmart Charities grant.
That’s according to NAR board member Joanne Dickson, who said the funds will be used for transporting animals to PetSmart Adoption Days in Prince Albert, transporting animals to be spayed, neutered or vaccinated, transferring animals to rescue partners, paying for vehicle insurance, maintenance and fuel, purchasing dewormer and vaccines for foster animals, and paying for staff to care for animals in the pound and to transfer them to where they need.
The grant will also enable NAR to purchase leashes and collars and to replace crates that are damaged after trips.
“It’s really important because, due to COVID, donations have kind of dried up a bit because people are struggling financially,” Dickson said. “What this does it is helps us with that part of our organization.”
