Slight decrease in COVID-19 hospitalizations but still 340 receiving treatment, two more deaths

The good news for Saskatchewan’s COVID-19 situation is hospitalizations saw a small decrease of two on Saturday, the first time hospitalizations have had a one-day decrease since Jan. 6.

The bad news is there are still 340 people across the province receiving treatment in hospitals, with 36 in intensive care. Four people receiving intensive care are in the North Central zone, along with 20 inpatients. One person is receiving intensive care in the North West, along with 31 in patients. Four inpatients are receiving treatment in the Far North West.

Two more deaths were reported in the province, increasing the total to 989. The confirmed new daily case count for Saturday is 1,083, bringing the total to 116,511.

There are 69 new cases to report today in NITHA communities.

There are 249 active cases of COVID-19 in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 22; Far North West, 23; Far North East, 149; North Central, 36; and North East, 19. 7374 cases (96%) have recovered, and there are 0 hospitalizations.
