Summer programming ends next week at Gordon Denny Community School
Air Ronge children have been having a fulfilled summer so far thanks to programming organized by Gordon Denny Community School.
Summer programming began July 8 when students from the University of Saskatchewan held a Sci-Fi Camp for up to 40 kids. During the same week, Community School Recreation Coordinator Ashley Roberts stated there were also dance lessons taught by Shaylynn McAuley. The following week was all about food as participants learned how to make pizza, shepherds pie, chicken cordon bleu, banana bread and a variety of desserts.
“There are so many people out there looking for something to do during their summer break,” Roberts said. “Programming helps to get people out and it gives them something to do with their kids.”
On Thursday, Roberts hosted a free barbecue at the Air Ronge marina for all local residents who wanted to join. She said it was a chance to bring families together to spend some time outdoors.
