First class of Marshal Service starts training

The first 10 new members of the Saskatchewan Marshal’s Service have started their training, the agency said in a news release today.

While they are initially hiring experienced officers, the hirees are still required to complete a seven-week courts and ‘builds on previous experience and knowledge’, said the release.

Officers will refresh on firearms, defensive tactics, tactical emergency casualty care, high risk vehicle stops, trauma informed policing and Indigenous culture.

The goal is to make sure that all of the officers are taking a consistent approach.
