Man facing assault charges in Fond du Lac

A man from Fond du Lac Denesuline Nation is facing several charges following an altercation last week. 

On Sept. 3, Fond du Lac RCMP received a report of a serious assault at a home on the First Nation on Sept. 3. An investigation determined an altercation occurred at the residence, where an individual was assaulted.  

They were taken to the hospital with injuries described as serious in nature. 

As a result of an investigation, 28-year-old Keifer Mercredi was charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and breaching a peace bond. It was also determined he was also involved in an Aug. 31 incident where an individual was threatened, as well as a separate Sept. 3 incident where an individual received non-life-threatening injuries during an assault.
