Woman arrested following chase on Highway 102

A 36-year-old woman is facing multiple charges following a firearm incident in Sucker River.  

On Sept. 7 at approximately 6:20 p.m., La Ronge RCMP received a report of a firearm discharge in the northern community. It was reported to police that a firearm was discharged from a car in the direction of a second vehicle. The occupants inside the second vehicle were not physically injured. 

Later that same evening, officers located a car matching the suspect vehicle’s description in Sucker River. Officers activated their vehicle’s emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop, but it did not stop and fled north on Highway 102. 

Police set up a tire deflation device, which the suspect’s car ran over, deflating its tires. The car came to a stop, and two individuals fled on foot. Not long after, a woman was located and arrested.
